January 2009 - John's One Person Show, Loveswell, which received raves from critics and audiences alike, is once again hitting the stage -May 1st to June 7th at the The Hudson Guild Theatre, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90038. Friday & Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm

March 2008 -Jon and Christie welcomed Abby Ryder Fortson on March 14th, 2008. She was 7 pounds, 8 ounces and has brown hair and blue eyes.

January 2008 - Actress Christie Lynn Smith, formerly of General Hospital, attended the Boom Boom Room event in Century City, CA, on Saturday, January 12th. Christie is due with a girl in March, and she and husband John Fortson plan to name the baby Abby Ryder. Celebrity Baby Blog
July 2007 - John has been honored as BEST LEADING ACTOR Honorable Mention at the The Accolade Film Awards 2007 for his portrayal of Jonas Evans in the romantic comedy, Definite Maybe. The film was also honored with a BEST FILM Honorable Mention.
May 2007 - John recently accepted the leading role of Dr. William Wise in the TV pilot presentation, BEYOND, an indie sci-fi thriller. Shot in the style of "24", John as Dr. Wise, tries to fit together the last pieces of his quantum bridge, a time machine, to help stop a third world war between North Korea and China. March 2007 - John stars in the ensemble film Derby Day which was recently nominated for 5 awards including Best Picture and WON Best Children's Film at the 2007 - 168 Film Festival. Derby Day now sets out toward other festivals around the country.
January 07 - John at SUNDANCE! MAGNETIC POLES, the biting relationship drama by the Award Winning Director, Maria Rosenblum, is an official selection of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. John stars as Simon.
